Lunch for a Cause 2020

Grab 'n Go Lunch Vendors (with a Cause!)

1. Freedom a la Cart
Freedom is their name and their game. Growing from a food cart in 2009 to a brick-and-mortar cafe in downtown Columbus in 2020, Freedom a la Cart employs survivors of human trafficking. Empowering these survivors with employable skills, worth ethic, and a supportive community, Freedom a la Cart delivers delicious, fresh, from-scratch food created with love and gratitude by a team of free women. Ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible. Not to mention tasty!
Their hearty sandwiches and salads will please your inner health nut and your inner glutton. Seriously…they’re enormous!

2. Ohio Pies
Emily’s heart is in everything she bakes, and she uses the profits to help those in need. Last year the recipients were refugees, and this year her Bakers Against Racism chocolate chip cookies will donate proceeds to the Columbus Freedom Fund (wow, so many good things in there)! She even donated 20% of her TOTAL profits last weekend to the fund. Thanks for doing more than your part!
The Nepali Veggie Curry hand pie is my lunch go-to, filled with spices and local ingredients…but they’re all delicious.

3. The Fromagerie
The Fromagerie scouts out world-class cheeses and bakes international breads right here in Ohio. Owner Kim has turned her baking passion into her business using local ingredients like tomatoes, chives, and rosemary all season long. She now employs (at least) 3 other workers, helping to grow the local economy!
Try her garlic and artichoke focaccia for a lunchtime treat- my absolute fave.
